Most owners are comfortable sharing a set of keys with WAGS to enable us to enter your home to collect and drop off your dog when you are not home. We are fully DBS checked, which is not a legal requirement, but we want you to feel comfortable with us having keys to your house (certificates available to view)
Please contact WAGS by email or telephone, giving at least 24hrs notice otherwise charges will apply.
In the unlikely event of an emergency, we will call and notify you. In our initial consultation, we ensure we have emergency contact details. If veterinary assistance is needed, we will take your dog to your named vet or depending on the circumstances, to the nearest possible vet.
This can be discussed in the initial consultation; each dog will be considered separately but we reserve the right to refuse any dog.
We take all dogs on their own merit and not on reputation of breeds. We meet all dogs before we walk them, and each new dog is subject to a trial period. Any instance of aggressive behaviour will be investigated, and we reserve the right to refuse any dog.
Dogs are pack animals and therefore very sociable, we believe they have more fun if they can play and interact with other dogs. Groups are kept small, max of 6 dogs, and are carefully selected with breed, age, sex and personality in mind and can be discussed with you before walks commence.
We will only let your dog off the lead once we have your signed written consent to do so. If the dog is not good on recall we prefer to keep them on a long lead to let them run and play in safety.
We collect your dog from your home/place of work at the agreed time and then return them after their walk. For group walks you may need to factor in a time allowance for collecting and dropping off dogs which means your dog will be out for longer than an hour, but they will always be exercised for the agreed period.
Yes. Your dog will be under constant supervision.
We have chosen routes around Maidstone, chosen so the dogs spend minimal time travelling. These have all been chosen to cater for your dogs needs in a safe environment.
This is possible, but we would prefer an extendable lead to be provided to allow your dog as much freedom as possible with other dogs. This avoids them feeling restricted and therefore lessens any tension.
No. Unfortunately it is WAGS policy never to take a bitch when she is in season.
We are happy to walk your dog wearing a muzzle, but it will only be on a solo walk.
No. It is WAGS policy not to walk dogs who are known to be aggressive to people.
Puppies usually must go out every 2-3 hours. We can come to your house during the day and let them out, feed them and interact with the puppy at agreed times. We can also introduce them to socialise with other dogs once they have received their vaccinations.
